Silhouette Self Portrait

The assignment was to create a self-portrait and make it into a silhouette by using Adobe Illustrator.  To complete this project I first had the teacher take a full body picture of me. I then uploaded the picture to my computer and began my project. We were required to have different designs with in the whole picture and to add a phrase or something that was related to us in it.

To crop my image, first I had to upload it into Adobe Illustrator. Next I began to crop my image by using the pen tool. I went all around the area that I wanted to use. After having the parts that I needed I copied the silhouette and added some shapes and text to it. I decided to use the quote “Well behaved women rarely make history” in one of my silhouettes because in the picture it looks like I am acting up. In the second one I decided to use the lyrics “No there is nothing that can stop us, nothing can ever come between us. So come and dance with me Jai Ho!” because I love this song and it kind of looks like I am dancing in the picture too.

The way which I cropped my piece does create an interesting composition. I believe this because for it to be my first time doing it, the cropping came out pretty well. The font and the style of the text does fit my quote well because it’s kind of like a wild style but also is clear to see. My background enhances my piece because it makes the silhouette stand out more than I thought it would.

I feel like I did a very good job on this piece. It was my first time doing something like this and it looks pretty good. Even though I did have some trouble at first, I did pull through it and got it done. What I like most about it was the pose that I did. It’s sort of like an I don’t care pose. I like to be like that and it represents me well. I learned how to use the pen tool while doing this project. I learned that you have to have patience while doing the design because if you don’t you will have a hard time.

Animal Hybrid

The assignment was to create an animal by using parts of three different animals. To complete this, first I had to pick three different animals to put together to make one animal. In order to get credit, we had to have certain things in our project. We had to include highlights, shadows and a background to match the scenery of where the animals habitat. This whole project was done using Adobe Illustrator.

The three animals that I chose where giraffe, turtle and a duck. I used the giraffe’s neck and head, the turtle’s body and the ducks feet. In my background I included grass, flowers, the sky and the sun. I chose this background because it’s pretty and I’d like to live in a place with a yard like that.

The three animals represent me all in my child hood. When I was younger my sisters used to say that I had a giraffe’s long neck and ducks feet. I had a pet turtle that died so I decided to use it as the body on my animal. The background has to do with my animal because it should be close to grass because of it’s giraffe side. I would have liked to include a pond though.

I feel like I did a really good job on this assignment. I took my time to trace and add the spots onto my animal, which took a lot of work. I like the duck feet most on my piece the most. I like it because it was the easiest part and because they really do look like duck feet. I think that if I could change something about my final piece I would make more highlights so that my image can pop out more. I learned how to make the highlights with the pen tool and take my time to do it.

making this iMovie was a lot of fun. We had to create a movie that had a meaning and tell a story about it. It was cool to do because we were able to add pictures of ourselves and others. At first i found it a bit hard, but afterwards it got a lot easier and fun. This story is about my sisters and i because i miss them very much and wish they would come back home.
